It’s an energy.
It’s not wisdom from the pulpit or a soapbox.
It’s not a position of power.
It’s an energy.
People come and talk with you or near you. You’re not in a rush. You can hear the story out. You can see the drama or issue at hand.
You notice there is less for you to do and in this time you have the ability to process what the busy younger ones can’t. You think, you work, you potter, but all the time you’re processing. You have the space to process the things of life.
It may not be your age, but your wisdom or maturity that gives you this processing capacity.
So these busy rushing younger ones sit with you, around you, they leave feeling better. Things have more of a clarity. You may not have spoken a word, but things soften, there is less angst. You have taken and processed what they can’t. They walk away with those things resolved or somewhat resolved or in progress.
Eldership is an energy.
Can you take up that mantle?
It won’t be given, you just gently take it, they will give it if you’re processing right. They will give it if you’re healed or healing, balanced and done the journey of taking your own power, not anyone else’s, yours.
All this healing and pain over the years… Have you not realised yet you got what you got because of your capacity? Sure you’re not totally right, but will you ever be?
We need elders with capacity, not oration skills, not super-wizz-bang spiritual powers, no, just sheer humanistic capacity to grind out the hard stuff of life.
